Who will you trust to set it up ( fuel , air, etc) when its finished Paul ?

Seems to be a lot of garages talk a good show but, owners end up with cooked piston etc :D

I didn't have an issue with the AFR it was a broken piston , not melted :(

A melted piston wouldn't have done as much damage as this had to my block, head, turbo etc.....

It will go back to HQ Garage for set up once the new high flow injectors are fitted after running in and set up by them with a two stage boost set up

Been making progress with the engine rebuild, bought all new Mahle pistons and rings, heavy duty main and big end shells, ARP big end bolts, and all gaskets and seals are Victor Rienz , so no scrimping in putting it back together

shortblock all reassembled, using the Ford data sheets to get all correct torque settings and method for fitting new crank seals and sump, surprisingly very complex, but well worth it to save any oil leaks

sent the turbo to get checked out and was found to be foooked, exhaust turbine wheel badly burnt, and roller bearing had play in it, so off to CR Turbos for a complete comprehensive rebuild, not cheap, but will be worth it. Suspect this was caused with not having the correct exhaust valves fitted to the head, they should have been sodium filled instead of normally aspirated valves

And finally another set of Team Dynamic alloys for the car, as you can never have enough alloys , and they were a bargain, so couldn't refuse them

Thanks to Stevie The Beard for all his help in getting me to this stage, couldn't have done it without you, a;lthough the OCD in getting everything clinically clean is brain damage, but will be worth it

continued with the FOCUS RS engine rebuild, big thanks to Stevie The Beard, who cannae drive for toffee, and big 8 ball for getting to this stage

head all bolted on after having complete overhaul, skimmed, pressure tested, vac tested, new valve stem oil seals, new camshaft seals, rocker cover gasket, new Victor Rienz heagasket, all valves lapped in by hand ( nitemare of a job, my hands are still sore) , reshimmed the valve clearance on both cams,

I baffled the sump pan as well before I fitted it onto the sandwich plate, thought better safe than sorry and reduce oil surge on track to protect the new engine further still, don't think Im gonna get a call from McLaren F1 anytime soon, but im happy with it

Sump was a bstard cos the shape of the sump, took me ages to cut it out with the plasma and dress it up to get it shaped correctly

decided to keep working on the engine today, and got it almost complete, Stevie and Scott came up tonight and we took it off the stand and fitted the flywheel, clutch and gearbox, not be long now

Just had a good read through this and WOW big chap :surprised: :surprised: :surprised: that focus looks amazing.

I'd paint the door handles white to match the car though, and the spoiler I wasn't keen on but again looks good, so you should paint the FRST vents to match.

We'll done fella

I'll need to get a run round the track in that :D I remember being in the ESCOS round the track. Was like :D
