Thanks for all the comments guys it's appreciated ;) I'm a lot happier with the way the cars looking now myself although I still need to dig a few bits up. The M3 mirrors need to go so I'm off out tomorow to get a pair of 3.5 Fiesta ones, I've been holding off getting the bonnet, bumper and strut brace painted as I want the mirrors done too. Hopefully the painting will get done next week but theres still the clutch, gearbox and new wishbones to fit and I'm working up North at the moment. Hopefully I'll get alot done this weekend while I'm home as I'm staying up in Montrose next weekend for some more overtime. The Friday after Emma is due in for a Ciserian section so we'll be busy with the new baby so the car may have to take a back seat for another couple of weeks :(

Looks unlikely that I'll make the photo shoot now which I'm a bit gutted about as it's the only one I've missed since they started at the Science Centre 3 years ago :(

I picked up these white dials on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0339911563

I also got this Ink jet paper off ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0274490715

The paper is a transparent film with a sticky adhesive backing. I took a copy of the Ford logo from Fords website then reduced it in size with Photoshop and I took a copy of the Fiesta logo by copying a picture of the logo from here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Fiesta-Mk3-R ... 240%3A1318 then changed the colour to blue and reduced the size again with photoshop.

I made up this template with the new smaller sized logo's

Image

I then printed this out onto an A4 sheet of the transparent paper then peeled the back off. I then placed each dial behind the sticky clear paper untill the writing was in the correct postion then stuck the paper to the dials. Once all 3 were in postion and stuck down I took a pair of sissors and cut the clear paper round the outside edge of each dial. I cut out the milage and pin slots on the dials with a craft knife and a ruler and job is a good un.

The only thing to watch when doing it is don't touch the print on the clear paper after it's come out of the printer as if you look really close at a couple of the Ford badges on mine they're a tiny bit smudged where I've touched them. I'm going to try putting another layer of the clear sticky paper over the dials after I've printed them out again just to protect the printed layer underneath.

If you want Kev I can make a set for you as I need to make myself another set for myself with the correct 150mph clocks that why I offered Ian. That said theres a wee bit of personell satisfaction in doing them yourself and it wasn't that hard just make sure to check exactly where the writing can go as once you've stuck the dials to the clear paper you can't take it off again ;)

I have cheated a bit with the rear lights Kevin as there sprayed   they looked really good though but the finish was a bit Matt and you could tell close up that they'd been sprayed. My big mate J gave them 3 coats of scratch proof laquor and they look like they just came out the factory that way  Not bad for 20 quid including postage

they look great, always thought they suited Fiestas well - £20 is better than the £400 delivered they usually go for, i know what i'd be doing if i could get a finish like that.

Haven't had a lot of time to spend on the car over the last 6 weeks with the new baby. Then deciding it would be quicker and easier to put the S1 back on the road for the West regional day which turned out to be a complete waste of time and money . Any ways I managed to get stuck back into it today and started by fitting the proper new white dials that I've modified again a little. These ones printed out a lot better and none of the writing is obscured, took a while to reset the dial pins correctly but I'm well happy with the end result

Image

I've actually became a little obsessed with the style of the Fiestas RS logo and decided to redo the painted RS grill on the front of the car in the same style. Wasn't the easiest of jobs making a template but it tured out pretty good I think

Image

I'm also planning on pulling off the chrome RS badges I had put on it after the restore and replacing them with the origonal Fiesta RS decal in black. Managed to get the new battery fitted today and replaced a couple of parts that I'd stole of the Fez to get the S1 working .

I'm off work on Monday so might try and talk the wife into giving me some time off to work on the Fez again

Not too sure Paul hopefully in the next 2 weeks as it looks like I'm getting sent down south to work for while. I definatley want it on the road for Louden Castle as I've already missed 2 events, well 3 counting the cancelled photoshoot  I'm discovering new problems aswell just realised it needs 2 new rear wheal bearings and the heater motor has seized due to it not moving in over a year  Old fords they never stop eating money

The clocks turned out really good though you can't really make them out in that pic that well but the little RS logos look minted
