Fitted ap 4 paddle with standard cover but. . .

I can't get gears when car is running, the clutch pedal is sitting higher than it was before I did the clutch. I have the mk5/6 escort quadrant with adjustable pedal already fitted to the car. Does anyone know or have experience in doing this and how to sort it?

Cheers, Paul
