Whats in your cleaning collection

Postby Dereksjoint » Tue Apr 06, 2010 2:04 pm

Being fairley new to the detailing scene I was wondering what has every one got in car cleaning collection.

Heres a wee list of my collection

Chemical Guys Glossworkz Paintwork Cleanser
Chemical Guys Synthetic Quick Detailer Spray
Chemical Guys Scratch and Swirl B Gone
Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 Sealant
Chemical Guys 50/50 Wax
Eco Tech 2 Degreaser
Autoglym Fast Glass Cleaner
Autoglym Car Glass Polish
Rain X Glass Sealant
Meguiars Gold Class Endurance Tire Gel
Dodo Juice Super Natural Clay Bars
Autosol Metal Polish
Super Car Drying Microfiber Towel
A sack full of Microfiber Polishing Cloths and Microfiber Applicators

I think thats it all although I've no doubt missed a few bits

Sponges  ? Its wash mitts these days lads, sponges hold to much hidden grit in them that result in swirls. Your shampoo shud be like hair shampoo and be PH balanced lol, makes the wax last longer because it does not strip it off while washing it.

I was going to sit and type out the contents of my collection, but figured this would be easier:

PS I swear by Tesco Daisy APC for interior plastics scuffs etc, best 99p ever spent 8-)

Indeed Derek! Been into it for about 3 years now - its amazing how long a selection of stuff lasts if you don't need to polish your car that often. I usually get away with detailing mine about once every 6 months.

One cap full of Daisy into a bucket of warm water will give you a great APC - works a treat on rubber mats, seals, plastics etc

"Chemical Guys" stuff is the business Goafer.
I'm not into heavy duty cleaning/buftying, but what ive got brings the motor up a treat IMO.

For the 2010 season my cleaning kit is made up of both chemical guys gear and some of the old autoglym favorites!!!
Have to say that of the chemical guys gear i have tried i havnt been disapointed by any of them.

Specially the 50/50 wax, amazing!!! ;)
