Fiesta track car painted frozen white/new decals

Postby DALSY » Sun Oct 24, 2010 6:51 pm

After blowing the gearbox up at Crail decided I was gona rebuild and improve the car over the next few months

went on one of my famous road trips yesterday to pick some parts up for the Fiesta

Image

and these too

Image

Bought a new ST170 polished and ported head, that has been modified to remove the VVT cam and pulley, this is a showpiece of a thing, and im very pleased with it

Image

Image

this photo shows the change to the head, with the VVT solenoid removed , and the bridge fitted, with the new camlobe bushed and pinned, very clever stuff, the only downside is i cant run the ST170 camcover , needs to be a block top cover, but ill do something with it

Started the car today, the gearbox went bang at Crail Raceway the other week, and im changing the head, so decided to take everything out

so plan now is to strip the rest of the underbonnet, and paint it anthracite, along with the inside of the car

Im also goin to take off the RS accesory bumpers, and put on Fiesta RST bumpers, paint the outside of the car frozen white, with new graphix ... again

Ill update the thread as we go along, ill have a big push with it on Wednesday when im off work for a couple of days

]worked on the car on Saturday nite , with a few cheeky budweisers, help keep the cold at bay

front panel had some weight took out it

Image

removed the battery tray, and jack mount from under the bonnet

Image

sanded down under the bonnet , ready for primer now

Image

finished removing the rest of the sound deadining from inside the car, this is a horrible job, and glad its now finished

Image

removed the inside of the door, and removed the sound deadining too, im gona leave the crash bar in there for some strength

Image

Im gona have a real push at the car wedneday /thursday, get all the cutting finished, and inside the car all flattened , ready for the welding to start Sunday
