Oil Temp

Does anyone have any thoughts on this...

Driving my Focus RS back from work last night, I checked the oil temp before 'increasing pace' on the motorway last night but the gauge was still sitting on the minimum mark (50 degrees) and the oil pressure was at max (5), normally at that point in my journey the oil temp is just over the 2nd mark.

I pulled over and the oil pressure dropped to the 3/4 mark. I switch the car off and turned the iginition on all the gauges did their usual sweep. I checked the oil level and it was around the max mark on the dip stick. I drove it ever so carefully home and the temp gauge never moved.

The car's still under warranty so I'll call the dealer tomorrow, is the car safe to drive or should I get recovery to come pick it up?

Not sure I understand what you're asking?

dont know if this will help or not:

Oil pressure drops as oil gets hotter, therefore oil pressure at idle, when cold is higher than when hot.

Oil pressure raises with engine RPM and vice versa.
